Summary

EV-PYH-SCI is an optical smoke heat, “Category P” multi-sensor detector with integral short circuit isolator fully compatible with Evolution analogue addressable systems.

The EV-PYH-SCI comes to the market with some exciting new technological advances centred on an enhanced new “PY” smoke sensing chamber. The sensor includes a spherical feature within the smoke chamber, providing unrivalled performance for scattering light, plus an Orange LED, which significantly improves response across the fire spectrum. The Chamber construction is designed to minimise the effect of dirt/dust contamination with a fine micromesh made of stainless steel to prevent ingress of even the smallest insects which can create false alarms.

This advanced multi sensor is able to combine the benefits of both optical and heat sensing technologies making it less prone to false alarms than individual sensing devices. An innovative Nittan designed algorithm reads both signals simultaneously and generates alarm signals from either (or both) sensor(s). The Heat sensor is Category P meaning it can be configured as either A1R, A2S, BS or CS heat category.

The integral short circuit isolator is bi-directional and in the event of an external fault will shut down on one side to protect the system, whilst allowing the device to continue communication with the fire alarm control panel from the opposite side. The isolator will self-reset when the fault is cleared.

The Nittan UB-6-SL-EV Base includes a sliding link, to provide loop continuity, when detectors are removed. This is to ensure Call Point operation is not affected by detector removal, in accordance with BS 5839-1, Clause 12.2.2.
