Aspirating Smoke Detection
Aspiration smoke detection (ASD) is a sophisticated fire detection technology that provides early warning of a potential fire. Unlike traditional smoke detectors, which rely on detecting smoke particles in the air, aspiration smoke detectors draw in air through a network of pipes or tubing to detect smoke particles at a very early stage of a fire. The technology is based on the principle of continuously sampling air from a protected area and analysing it for the presence of smoke particles.
