Summary

VEA combines VESDA reliability & early warning smoke detection with pinpoint addressability. VEA uses patented multi-channel microbore tubes & patented air-sampling points with three sensitivity settings. VEA divides a protected space into sampling locations, to pinpoint threats for faster response. Features include field programmability, enhanced connectivity, and centralized test & maintenance to provide reduced total cost of ownership. VEA has a IP40-rated enclosure & is equipped with a powerful pump, providing up to 100 m (328 ft) microbore tube lengths. Using VSC for commissioning, a normalization process establishes flow performance parameters. Local smoke test ports are used during servicing to verify that the system is fully operational. Field replaceable components such as filter, smoke smoke sensor module, and pump & rotary valve result in less down time and ease of maintenance.

Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance

The VEA detector features a robust IP40-rated enclosure and is equipped with a powerful pump that provides up to 100 m (328 ft) microbore tube length. It
is fully supported by the Xtralis VSC software which facilitates ease of system commissioning and maintenance. During commissioning, the normalization process establishes the flow performance parameters. Local smoke test ports are used during servicing to verify that the system is fully operational. Field replaceable filter, smoke sensor module, pump and rotary valve components result in less down time and ease of maintenance.

Color LCD Display

The VEA-040-A10 detector features a 3.5” colour LCD display which provides a range of status information including alarm and fault conditions as well as smoke level. Screens for each type of information are available using a simple navigation system.

VESDAnet™

VESDA detectors and devices communicate on VESDAnet which provides
a robust bi-directional communication network allowing continued redundant operation even during single point wiring failures. VESDAnet enables primary reporting, centralized configuration, control, maintenance and monitoring.

Ethernet and WiFi Connectivity

VESDA-E detectors offer Ethernet and WiFi connectivity as standard features. The detector can be added to a corporate network, allowing WiFi enabled tablet devices and laptops installed with Xtralis configuration software to connect wirelessly to the detector via the network.

When it comes to smoke and fire detection, seconds count. That’s why more and more people are using Xtralis technology to protect their facilities and minimize the risk from fire.

Xtralis VESDA is the global leader in aspirating smoke detection and very early warning. Building on Xtralis’s proven detection performance combined with an innovative air sampling method, VESDA E VEA delivers a pinpoint addressable ASD solution for standard detection applications. VESDA E VEA draws air along a network of microbore tubes from individual sample points to the central detector. Inside the detector, the air sample is filtered to remove contaminants and other foreign material to minimize potential nuisance alarms and then pass through a laser-based absolutely calibrated detection chamber. Once smoke is detected, the VEA raises an alarm and then identifies the location of the fire.

VESDA E VEA incorporates patented sample points and tube integrity monitoring to ensure smoke detection capability is not compromised and also provides sample point self-cleaning. Combining these features allows centralized maintenance and the ability to conduct servicing at the detector. This allows interruption-free operation in the protected area and significantly reduces the time and cost to undertake service or maintenance. These benefits are valued in hospitals, nursing homes, corporate office buildings, schools, university campuses, prisons, and retail spaces.

As part of the new VESDA E family, VESDA E VEA offers flexible networking options, replaceable filed components, and is expandable up to 120 addresses from a single fire zone. VESDA E VEA, a true alternative to traditional smoke detection with the advantages of VESDA detection performance, system integrity monitoring, and centralized maintenance.
